The Search for Pat

Posted a link on Facebook Friends of the Bareguitarist asking for home-made video of kids doing a make-up version of Postman Pat - get those bugg*rs working during school holidays rather than sitting around enjoying themselves...

During one of the days searches for material found the above picture... Maybe I will change the emphasis of the project I am working on. :) I do hope that people have some fun pulling this together and not focus on the quality .. (however camera focus is good !!!)..

Doing some more work today on the show ... I hope to get the timing completed for about 50% of it by the end of today.. and incorporate a new song into the line up.. something will have to go if I do ... or I can talk quickly I suppose...

Oh and I got the answer to the question what's the difference between Bing Crosby and Waltz Disney - It took me until about mid-day today to figure it out ... the answer is Bing sings but Waltz Disney ... am I going to help you to understand ... NOPE .. struggle is good for the soul..

Onwards with the plan ...

Bank Holiday Monday

Today was all about finding and rephotographing a Womble ... and as you can see I found one - dressed as a lizard - but no fooling me. He was stood making good use of the money he found for charity ...
So delighted with this find - I was forced to go and have a beer or two in the bar nearby ... a moment in history.

Nil work on the show today - as I have only just got back from the Womble hunt. There is almost a symbiotic relationship between beer and Womble hunting - if you don't do one - you cannot do the other. Simples...

Earlier I got a text asking if I knew what was the difference between Bing Crosby and Walt Disney - well I would be Mickey Mouses Uncle if I knew ... almost like the difference between a Liverpudlian and an Evertonian  - quick guess its about 6 O' Levels ... but no-one really knows.... Only that if you park your car in Liverpool you have to nail the tires to the tarmac :)

More wine awaits - and a Chinese takeaway - so Bon Courage ....

The day after the night before

Its the day after the night before. Been invited to be fed by some good friends makes me fell like I am a real artist, suffering for my art. However the reality is that I am no 7 stone musician, and the welcome adhoc invitation came as they had their dinner guests cancel...
This quiet evening of a meal and chat turned into a 3 am wine binge with good company, loads of debate on what is good music, why the 70's were a mixture of really good and really bad music as compared to the 80's - and if Adam Ant was really the start of the demise of good music :)... anyway we didn't resolve anything -needless to say.
So as all post 3 am wine binges - today is a quiet day. One highlight is I heard Stairway to Heaven in a shop - now that's music, and been a long time since I played that piece, (the last being a very drunken party at a friends house some years ago)...
Oh - and - the debate from last night centred around ....was Pop Muzik in the 80's or the 70's - I said 80's and was wrong. God I hate a smart arse... especially a smug one :)

Bank Holiday !!!!!!

28th May 2011

The story so far ...

I registered the Bareguitarist for the free fringe 2011 after seeing a number of acts that were - well - interesting to be polite .....

After a number of mishaps I am registered. Cafe Renroc - was called Black Dutch Cafe - was called Cafe Renroc before that - anyway I think its at Cafe Renroc (or whatever it is called when I get there).

Unlike the olden days in Sheffield, this is not a gig its an act... for an hour solid .. in the old days I used to be able to play over 5 hours of music - could probably manage 3 or 4 hours now - but this is not playing music...

About 2 months ago I started to pull the "act" together... its now on about its 6th and final version.. and I am happy to see that it is pulled together - all bar some tuning.. I actually think its fun now.

I have a new favourite piece - oh YES !!! - and I am doing it on the ukulele. GREAT FUN. The hardest piece to get together so far, took me over 2 days to sort out the Lyrics and 4 hours to get it right. What is clear to me now is there is NO easy way to load view and edit video. Its a conspiracy of technology against the little man.

I put up a link on Face book (friends of the bare guitarist) - I put a twitter @bareguitarist - and now a blog...

That's the story so far from what I am told it is easier to do a blog as it happens - so now I am set - that's going to be the MO ...
